In these first three chapters, we become more aware as a read of “ My Bondage and My Freedom” of it was like to have “ Family” as well as brothers and sister who were not more than strangers due to the system of slavery as an African- American person. The information Douglass provides in these first three chapters are served as an interesting journey through his enslavement for the readers to experience and learn about as he tells his story through a very not far off reality.
